Mental Health Recovery ProgramThrough its Mental Health Recovery program, Family Alliance provides mental health services to individuals who are experiencing difficulties due to mental illness. To facilitate understanding of each person and provide appropriate services to meet his/her needs, Family Alliance assesses strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. A comprehensive plan is then developed to help achieve stabilization, avoid crisis, and avoid expensive inpatient interventions.
To provide these services, Family Alliance employs a multidisciplinary team of professionals available to meet the identified needs of each person:
- Licensed Clinical Social Workers provide direct psychotherapy and counseling to help alleviate the symptoms of mental illness and promote wellness through behavioral changes.
- Community Support Specialists are available to help the individual develop skills to promote symptom reduction and self-management in that person's own environment. The Specialists can assist with environmental modification for stability and growth, resource acquisition, recovery planning, and development of resilience. Individuals who are receiving Community Support Services and need some additional assistance to meet one or more of their recovery goals may choose agency-based psychosocial rehabilitation services. Either in a group or individual session, the PSR service provides skills training that focuses on the individual's ability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in their communities.
- Family Alliance nurses are also a part of the team, providing medication training, monitoring and/or administration for those individuals who are taking psychotropic medications.
- The Geriatric Psychiatrist provides psychiatric evaluation, continued medication monitoring, and on-going follow-up. The psychiatrist works in conjunction with agency therapists and nurses, providing a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to each person's care.

Testimonials If it were not for Family Alliance, my parents would have to be in a publicly funded institution. I can care for my parents in my home, where they are happiest and it is least costly.
